We believe in skin minimalism. -not in our use of botanicals but in the amount of products that we formulate. Our products are designed with multi-purpose application in mind, further contributing to our ethos as a sustainability driven company. We do this by synergising the power of coast and sea plants to produce blends that do various things: provide moisture, protect and strengthen the barrier layer, help suppress and alleviate redness and itch and help retain elasticity and firmness in support of healthy aging.
Our signature botanicals are plants that can be found in the landscape of the Wadden Sea. To ensure their sustainability, we thoughtfully harvest them from carefully chosen European coastal locations, where the plants flourish under sustainable practices. When this is not possible, they are grown under careful curation.
Every choice has impact. At SKAAI, we aim to reduce environmental harm rather than abuse resources for profit. We remain open to learning and improving.
We know that plants are powerful and that true and authentic beauty naturally unfolds from pure formulas and high-quality and effective ingredients. We seek to nurture the mind, body, and spirit with wholesome actives that entice natural beauty inside and out.
Our product development process was molded with our core beliefs at the forefront. We prioritize natural and organic ingredients. We source our ingredients carefully from ethical partners and, where available organic, Fairtrade™suppliers – preferably small-scale, women-led enterprises. We love animals and are proud to produce within the EU where all products must be mindfully tested, but not on animals.
We hand-blend small batches to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
All SKAAI products are packaged with the same care and consideration given to their development. Avoiding the use of harmful plastics, our bottles are produced as sustainably as possible. We were able to source bottles made in Europe with 35% recycled glass that add beauty, durability and reusable functionality to our products. We endeavour to attain higher ratios in the future. The plastic pumps are not recyclable and we are searching to exchange them for alternatives. We are researching ways for re-use and recycle our own packaging, and encourage customers to refill, reuse or recycle their bottles to continuously reduce environmental impact and waste.
At SKAAI we believe in supporting our local community and are dedicated to working with local farmers, companies and charities. Together, we can develop the infrastructure to grow and produce as close to home as possible, creating a sense of community and spreading SKAAI’s ethical and sustainable message to our neighbours.
